We, the students from the BTS of Ettelbruck, have visited the production site of the photovoltaic company SOLUXTEC GmbH in Bitburg, situated in Germany.
The company was founded in 2009 with 36 people versus 65 people today.
The company also has the TüV label.
SOLUXTEC is producing 800 modules a day and is delivering them all around the world.
The cells which are part of the panels, are imported from Taiwan and Lithuania, but their products are 100% made in Germany. Not to forget that the company is member of the PV cycle, which ensures that the photovoltaic modules are collected at the end of their life and processed in a cost-effective and especially sustainable way.
SOLUXTEC is differing from other competing companies, because it has close contacts with its clients and is therefore able to respond to their expectations with professionalism.
When we were visiting the production section, we noticed that there are different colours available for the solar panels. The colours have actually nothing to do with technology, but have only an aesthetic purpose.
The company invests about 1.000.000 € per year in research and development. It is currently getting a financial help from the government.
Their turnover has an increase by 20% each year. In 2015 their annual turnover was 14,5 million dollar which increased to 17,5 million dollar in 2016.
On the whole, the visit of SOLUXTEC was very interesting and we have learned a lot things about renewable energy.
