Report of day 4:

An eventfull day in Brussels:

Morning
Our day started very early as we travelled to Brussels for several important meetings. The first stop was the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) at the European commission. During this meeting, we presented the results of our school project, GreenMobility@School, and engaged in an open and productive discussion with representatives from DG Move about the importance of sustainable mobility in schools. DG MOVE also shared insights into their current activities and programs related to sustainable urban mobility, road safety and cycling. Their innovative approaches and vision for the future of urban transport in Europe were particularly inspiring.

Lunch Break
Around 12:00 PM, we took a break and had lunch at the restaurant Grand Central, where we enjoyed a one-hour lunch. This offered us the chance to reflect on the morning’s discussions and prepare for the upcoming meeting in a relaxed setting.

Afternoon
In the afternoon, we met with Ms. Tilly Metz, Luxembourgish member of the European Parliament. Once again, we presented the results of our project, emphasizing the contributions of GreenMobility@School to promoting sustainable practices among students. The exchange with Ms. Metz was highly insightful, as she expressed strong support for our initiatives and provided valuable perspectives on the role of politics in fostering green mobility. The meeting concluded with a guided visit to the European Parliament, where we gained a deeper understanding of its structure and decision-making processes.
