Report of day 1 - Erasmus+ Kick-off in St. Pölten:

The first day of the Erasmus+ project in St. Pölten started with a warm welcome from our hosting school. All participants were greeted and the goals for the week were outlined. Students from Austria, Croatia, Luxembourg, and Germany were then seated and began with school presentations, introducing their institutions and sharing insights about their local environments and educational systems.

Following this, the Erasmus+ presentation provided an overview of the week’s theme — renewable energy with a focus on wind power — as well as the project’s main objectives. The teachers explained the missions for the upcoming days and introduced the kick-in forms that would guide each group’s work. After a short coffee break, the students were divided into international groups to discuss their roles and upcoming tasks.

The late morning continued with a guided tour through HTL St. Pölten, where the Austrian students proudly presented their school. The visitors explored classrooms and laboratories from different departments such as electronics, mechanics, chemistry, and sports. The tour also included a visit to the school’s workshop areas, the lockers, and the cafeteria.

After a one-hour lunch break, the atmosphere became more relaxed and social. A fun Speed Dating Bingo session helped the students get to know each other better and learn about their peers’ hobbies, studies, and interests. This was followed by a creative workshop on the design of project logos, where each group developed ideas for an Erasmus+ logo. The designs were presented and voted on, and the winning logo will represent the project throughout the year.

In the afternoon, the group discussed Vienna activities planned for later in the week, including cultural visits and team challenges. The day ended with a short closing session, where participants reflected on what they had learned and shared their first impressions.

Overall, it was a productive and inspiring first day. Students bonded quickly, got a clear understanding of the project’s goals, and began building the international spirit that defines Erasmus+.
