Samedi, 13/07/24 (1er jour) :
Notre vol partait très tôt le matin, et bien que nous fussions fatigués, nous sommes allés visiter la salle où le concours aurait lieu le lendemain. Le soir nous avons assisté à la cérémonie d’ouverture. (Opening Ceremony and Welcome Cocktail)
Dimanche, 14/07/24 :
Aujourd’hui, dans l’après-midi, le concours de production de textes (Text Production Competition) a eu lieu. Il s’est très bien passé même si c’était assez stressant. Le total de participants dans ma catégorie était de 63.
Lundi, 15/07/24 :
Cet après-midi j’ai participé au concours du « Youth Texting Competition » qui consistait à copier le plus rapidement possible un texte de 160 caractères qui nous a été affiché dans un grand écran, en polonais, sur le portable. Plus tard, nous sommes allés faire une promenade en ville. (Katowice City Walk)
Mardi, 16/07/24 :
Ce matin, nous avons participé à l’événement pour les jeunes (Youth Event) et nous nous sommes faits de nouveaux amis d’Allemagne. Ensuite, nous sommes allés à Auschwitz pour visiter l’ancien camp de concentration et d’extermination. (Excursion Auschwitz-Birkenau)
Mercredi, 17/07/24 :
Nous avons eu l’opportunité d’assister à l’assemblée générale, qui était un peu chaotique. Ensuite, nous sommes allés à la cérémonie de remise des prix, et je me suis classée 41e sur 63 participants dans ma catégorie. Le soir, nous sommes allés dîner. (Farewell Dinner)
Jeudi, 18/07/24 (dernier jour) :
Nous rentrons au Luxembourg à 4 heures du matin. En général, c’était une très bonne expérience. Je suis reconnaissante d’avoir participé au concours et je suis contente de mes résultats.

Day 1: Saturday 13/07/2024
I woke up at 2:00 in the morning to prepare myself for the flights. Ms. Brito took us students to the airport, and we arrived at 4:00. Our first flight to Frankfurt was at 6:00, then we had some time until our next flight to Katowice. We arrived in Katowice and checked in into our hotel rooms. Then we went to the Congress Centre to look at the room in which I will participate tomorrow. In the evening, at 17:30, we went to the Opening Ceremony which took place in the auditorium of the Congress Centre. I was tired since I had been awake for a long time already, so I went back to the hotel with Mr. Neves and the other students.
Day 2: Sunday 14/07/2024
Today the competition in which we participated took place. The start was at 12:30. I was pretty nervous in the beginning but in the end everything went well. I had 8890 keystrokes (out of the 7500 that I needed), that made me and Ms. Brito happy. After that we went to have lunch at a nearby restaurant.
Day 3: Monday 15/07/2024
We went to the city center and visited the mall. I stayed with Ms. Brito and Ms. Kasel because I don’t like being alone in a big place like that. We then made our way back to the Congress Centre so we could eat something before Cindy participated in the Youth Texting Competition. It started at 13:00. In the evening we participated at the City Walk, so we got a small tour of the city. We learned about the past of Katowice and how it once had a lot of mining operations going on. After that I went back to the hotel.
Day 4: Tuesday 16/07/2024
Today was the Youth Event so only me, Cindy and Gianni went with the other participants to a bowling alley. I didn’t play bowling because I don’t really like it so I watched the others play. We were a group of seven people, including the participants from Germany and some other countries. After the Youth Event we went to eat and then we went to Auschwitz. We first visited Auschwitz I, where it was hot and humid; the tour was very interesting. After that, we did another short tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau. When we got back, I decided to stay in my room because I was tired from the long day.
Day 5: Wednesday 17/07/2024
Today I stayed in my hotel room until 13:00 because the professors had a meeting. At approximately 13:20 we met for lunch. Then we went back into our rooms and got ready for the prize giving ceremony in the auditorium of the Congress Centre. I scored 16th place out of 27 participants in the entire world which made me and the professors really happy. After the ceremony we went to the farewell dinner.
Day 6: Thursday 18/07/2024
We took a taxi to the airport at 3:30. I overslept a bit, but that was fine because I already had everything ready to go. We arrived at the airport and took the first plane to Frankfurt at 6:05. When we arrived in Frankfurt, we waited an hour for the plane to Luxembourg.
